Maureen DeFrank 4/24/2018 4:12 PMMy first box of imperfect produce has arrived - i can't wait to get home and put it to use! According to stats on the imperfect produce website, with each box of produce we save not only that produce from going to waste, but gallons of water and CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. Definitely a win-win-win!-
J M 4/25/2018 1:19 PMThat's great Maureen!

Maureen DeFrank 4/19/2018 10:13 AMToday i read an interesting article about food waste: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/biodiversity/americans-waste-about-a-quarter-of-the-food-they-buy-and-the-environmental-consequences-are-staggering/ar-AAw24aU?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=spartandhp. There should be more education on finding recipes to use up extra ingredients, or how to create different recipes using the same ingredients to prevent extras from one recipe going to waste.-
J M 4/19/2018 10:40 PMGreat idea Maureen!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Maureen DeFrank 4/05/2018 12:01 PMI had never heard of Silvopasture before this challenge. I think one of its biggest advantages is maintaining the native environment while at the same time helping to minimize such things as methane gas. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesNow that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?
Maureen DeFrank 4/04/2018 1:02 PMI will know that these dates don't necessarily mean the food is unsafe to eat or will make me sick - they quality may not be as good, but it does not mean it will make me sick.
