Sherry Hall 4/25/2018 9:13 AMGiving up on the web search I contacted Metro Recycling, City of Portland Recycling and Far West Fibers. Sorry to say no recycling for bioplastics. Best thing is not to purchase for now. If someone has a different answer, I am eager to hear. 😊 -

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Learn about Local Indigenous PracticesWhat did you learn about indigenous peoples' land management that you can apply in your own life?
Sherry Hall 4/18/2018 7:57 AMI went to see Jacqueline Keeler's talk at the Sewell Lecture last weekend and also the Front Line Communities panel discussion on Saturday at the Unitarian Church. Jacqueline talked in part about the Dakota pipeline struggle. This brought back the images of courage shown by indigenous peoples, as they struggled to protect the life giving water and the land they understand as sacred. She also talked about indigenous sustainable harvesting practices. An example she used was when gathering eggs, never take all, leave some to hatch so the resource will be there for future generations. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smaller PortionsFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?

Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?
One answer: Keeping that weight down.

REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Research Heat PumpsWhy do you care about taking action on climate change?
Sherry Hall 4/06/2018 10:03 PMWhy do I care about taking action on climate change? I believe that survival of the planet is at risk because of our history of our burning fossil fuels. I fear the the losses ahead if something isn't done. -
