Maureen Lancaster 4/23/2018 6:14 AMI participated in Ireland's Friends of the Earth "Sick of Plastic" campaign. We worked with a local grocery store, and had notes requesting a "packaging free aisle," compostable packaging to replace plastic packaging, increasing the availabiity of items in bulk for which customers can bring their own containers, etc. We were able to submit 150+ individual notes at the end of the day to the store manager with these and other requests to reduce the use of plastic. Great fun!! AND the store manager had already put a big sign up after he learned we would be there saying what this major grocery chain was doing to reduce plastic. A fun and productive day!!-

Maureen Lancaster 4/12/2018 9:14 AMI connected with two women who own and run their own B&B. As a part of their business, they include opportunities to support charitable efforts as a part of their welcome to their home. One is the Christine Noble Foundation which has a long history of meeting the needs of orphaned and needy children in Vietnam. One of the owners creates beautiful wood turning crafts. I learned about their work and purchased one of their bowls, the proceeds will go to support two girls in Vietnam, including their education.-
Lisa Pettitt 4/16/2018 8:23 AMWelcome, Maureen, all the way from Ireland! Is there a link to this organization so we could consider purchasing a bowl as well?
