One of the challenges I've committed to is installing a low-flow shower head and I was amazed to see that in London Thames Water is actually providing this and other water-saving devices for free!

    Food Reduce Animal Products
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

I think that meat companies propagate very well to the American public by linking their products to a healthy life-style. Also, it is hard for Americans to avoid eating meat when meat has an unconditional connection to American values and culture. American eating habits are driven by desire rather than by health, and that is something that needs to change for the better of our fellow American. I think the best way to shift a meat-dependent society to a nutritious food culture is by using media as a mechanism that will illustrate the advantages of living a healthy life style, while also highlighting the disadvantages of being unhealthy. I will also like to recommend that there must be professionals such as doctors or members of public health that will be willing to support such movement. People don't like being told what to do, but if you can offer a product, a service or a life-style without forcing it, there will be a more positive change, because people like to feel that they have choices.

Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
Now that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?

Food freshness (or lack of) is something that can be accommodated, but food safety cannot. Expiry dates are of critical importance, where freshness and use by dates are for convenience and quality. This information will change when I consider un-used food to be wasted.

    Transport Use Public Transit
How has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

When I lived in Metro-Detroit, there was a lack of public transportation options. I always felt limited to having to own a car, and looked for opportunities to walk to the grocery store even though the community was not built to handle pedestrian traffic in some busy areas. This lack of option made it an important step in choosing my next place to live, and I chose an area with public transportation due to this experience.

    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?

Health and fitness are driven by proper portioning. If we are taking more than we need with larger plates, we reduce the chance that we will consume more than we need to maintain proper health and fitness.

Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

If I could save the money that is spent on food that eventually goes waste, I would see myself spending some portion of the money to help my family go green and environment friendly and the rest in donating to the non-profit orgs that raisefunds to help kids attain basic education.

My local library has a resource called GREENR which has tons of articles regarding different energy saving and environmental issues. "According to an August 1, 2016 article in the journal Geographical, implementing green rooftops across the city of Chicago could drop the peak summer temperatures in the city by as many as 7 degrees Fahrenheit!" was one of the coolest factoids I found that could really help save energy and channel it instead of letting it just burn up in the atmosphere!

Women and Girls Learn about the Need for Family Planning
What did you learn about the need for family planning? Share some of the learning with your friends!

The need for family planning is great through out the world, especially in under-developed and 3rd world countries. Many young women are lacking access to necessary information and resources necessary to give them knowledge about and freedom of reproductive rights. There are a multitude of health benefits this creates, from STI/STD avoidance to reduction of fatality from complications, in addition to the impact it has on our environment (population).
