Keeping our food waste journal was very eye opening.  We noticed an increased awareness while shopping for food, how much we were preparing and putting on our plate, and making the most out of leftovers.  The daily tracking definitely increased our awareness about how we prepare and consume food.

The videos we watched on the Silvopasture gardening technique were very interesting.  The examples from the videos we watched were mainly from the East Coast.  I'd be interested to know if there is anyone practicing this technique in Oregon.

I'd not heard of silvopasture before now. It seems the biggest advantage is the benefit the land receives. The land's success contributes to both the farmer's success and the success of the animals. A win-win for all.

This reflection question asks "In what ways can you support your closest regenerative agriculture farm?" First I would have to find out which farms are using regenerative agriculture practices, and second, where I can access their products. I'm pleased to learn about this style of agriculture, which goes beyond not using chemicals...

Using every part of a vegetable, including the skins, tops and stalks, is not something I have thought about because we are avid composters. What we don't eat goes in the compost bin, which in times fuels our garden's growth. We don't view it as "waste" because it still exists, just in a different form. I'd be interested to hear what...

We started logging our food waste last week.  We are doing good so far.  However, we cook a lot more on the weekends, so it will be interesting to see how well we do with our leftovers this week.

The lists are so long that it might do well to pick a few of the products one uses the most and start there with both finding alternatives and contacting the manufacturers to provide feedback of your concerns. They really do listen as sales depend on customer satisfaction.
