May 12 at 8:22 AMI'm a nurse at Ohio Health, and get very frustrated with all the waste that is not recycled. There are many items daily that are placed in trash because of lack of education about recycling. There should be more recycle bins placed at the hospital and signage placed to remind others about recycling.

May 12 at 8:19 AMRun off from industry. Dumping of wastes i.e. used oils etc into waterways. Use of pesticides/fertilizers that are "earth friendly". Dumping of plastics into oceans. Trash anywhere affects the earth and eventually goes into our waterways.

May 1 at 10:36 AMI did good at my challenge. I dont drive and am vegetarian so the challenge was easy for me. I am going to try a more challenging one now

April 25 at 11:40 AMI just read the "4 Foods That Are Eating the World's Forests" article as part of the Land Use challenge, and was so sad to see that coffee is #2. I can't get through the day without my 2-3 cups! I purchase coffee in my own bag from a local coffee roaster, so I do get my coffee plastic free, local, and certified organic, but...

They said no problem, because they have a recycling bin inside the bank. Made it through the grocery today with no plastic bags for veggies, etc. My favorite watering hole knows...

April 25 at 10:23 AMA grocery store moment today: I needed cranberry sauce. The 16 oz. size was on sale for a little over $1. The 8 oz size was about $1 I did not take advantage of the better price because I might not use the leftover sauce of the large can. More money - less food waste. My choice today.

April 25 at 10:18 AMNew studies show that keeping your weight in check usually leads to a longer, healthier life. Smaller amounts of food are better for digestion - i.e. less heartburn, etc.

April 25 at 7:46 AMThis has been a great experience to remind me each day that I personally have an impact on our planet.

April 24 at 5:52 AMI have been a yearly supporter of the Nature Conservancy for many years, as I think they are a unique organization in the way their mandate sequesters and protects natural areas of Canada for all of us species who call this home, now and in the future. I am proud to support such an important organization!

April 24 at 4:46 AMUsing the food log has surprised me and reinforced my need to do better about decreasing waste.
